“Until the day of his death, I could not imagine how to express with more emphasis or depth the words; loss, sadness, heart broken, devastation and emptiness. So, it is with all these words combined that I share that the love of my life tragically passed on Saturday November 16, 2024, at the age of 72. John and I were blessed with 22 years filled with so much love.”
John is survived by the love of his life and best friend, wife Heather. Predeceased by his parents Albert J. and Beatrice Winifred Allary.
Lovingly remembered by his sister, Anne Scoular. John and Anne shared a very special bond. John often spoke of his nephew, T. Francis Carrier, who tragically passed December 26, 1986, far too soon.
Family and friends will surely agree that John was by far one of the most heroic men that touched everyone’s heart with laughter, love, and support. John always saw the good in people and never missed an opportunity to tease the heck out of all of us.
John had numerous health challenges over the years and no matter how unwell he was, he was determined to beat the odds.
He was an amazing stepfather and mentor to Heather’s son Lindsay, sharing many trips and adventures over the years as a family, making lots of treasured fond and funny memories.
A blessing to John and Heather is dear friend Helen (Steve Montgomery); Helen and John were colleagues, and they shared many crazy workplace stories. Helen has been an unwavering, constant source of support and compassion over the years. She was the curator of a very plentiful vegetable garden, and John could not get enough of Helen’s carrots.
John began his career in 1973 at Goodyear Plant in Collingwood. In 2008, when John retired the plant manager wrote in a letter, “I assure you that John was by far the most valuable and effective Purchasing Manager that I ever worked with, second to none.”
John had two incredibly special buddies; Ken Walker and John Meechan, the Three Musketeers. They enjoyed each other’s company once a month for beer and wings, same place, same time.
He has left this earth, and we are all blessed to have known him. Cremation has taken place, and no formal services will be held. As an expression of sympathy please consider a donation to Diabetes Action Canada in John’s memory. Friends may visit John’s online Book of Memories at www.fawcettfuneralhomes.com
