Passed away on Friday, August 30, 2024 in her 76th year.
Yvonne, of Wasaga Beach, was the beloved wife of Lambert for 57 years. Loving mother of Roxanne (Jason). Cherished nanny to her pride and joy grandkids Shanea and Cole. Beloved sister of Vivian, Caroline, Steven (Rachel), George (Judy), and Cornelius. Cherished sister-in-law of Martha Elizabeth (Clifford), Minnie (Merrill), Gordon and will be missed by her nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Yvonne was predeceased by her children Karen Jane and Shane Applin, her parents Jane and Hubert Williams, her in-laws Virginia and Seymour Applin. sibling Whyman Williams; siblings-in-law Albert, Ross (Vivian), Donald (Tena), George, Jane Applin, Ches Doyle, Gus Pilgrim, and Raymond Parsons.
Born on April 16, 1948 in Current Island, Newfoundland, Yvonne married Lambert at the age of 19 on April 14, 1967. They lived in St. Barbe, Newfoundland where she worked and raised their family. They moved to Ontario in 2012 so they could be close to their grandkids. She loved to go camping, cooking, playing darts and cards; all while dancing if she could. She was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in her early 50’s but continued to show her true strength and resilience throughout her life; never giving up and always putting her family first. She loved to spend time with family and friends sharing her quick wit, laughter and huge heart.
Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the Carruthers & Davidson Funeral Home, 509 River Road West, Wasaga Beach. A Celebration of Yvonne’s Life will be held at the Wasaga Beach United Church, 380 Zoo Park Road, Wasaga Beach on Sunday, October 6, 2024 at 2:00pm; the service will also be available to watch on the Wasaga Beach United Church’s Facebook page.
