With much heart break we announce the passing of Roderick Gerald Beaupre.

Beloved husband of Roseanne Beaupre (nee Genoe) for over 48 years. Rod was a loving and devoted dad to Amanda, her husband Geoff, Carrie-Lynn, Jennifer and her husband Josh, and a cherished grandpa to Hayden, Cole, Chloe, Ryder, Jade, Jack and Jace.

Rod was the third born child to Ethel and Gerald Beaupre (predeceased).

Rod will be fondly and lovingly remembered by his siblings Marg, Sharon (Fred), Grace (Paul-predeceased), Debra, Robbin (Debbie), predeceased by Karen (Marty) and infant brother Edwin.

Much loved by his many nieces and nephews as “Uncle Roddie” and treasured by his many many friends.

Rod grew up on the farm and always loved farm life. He had a strong affinity to horses and German Shepherds. His family settled in Collingwood in his later childhood. In his teens Rod was known for his toughness and his fast cars. Rod always took immaculate care of every vehicle he ever owned.

Rod worked as a fitter at the Collingwood Shipyards for many years and later installed windows and doors at Northern Windows & Glass until his retirement. Always one to stay busy, Rod enjoyed the camaraderie of working with his brother Robbin doing carpentry throughout the years after retirement. Rod was always ready and willing to help build or fix anything for his family and friends, applying his unmatched work ethic and attention to detail to any project.

Rod was well known for his famous Elvis dance moves and his loud boisterous laughter that brought joy and smiles to the people around him. He enjoyed being outdoors, biking, western movies, classic country music, and reading Louis L'Amour western novels. Rod had a strong devotion to his family and his faith. He found much comfort in reading the bible every morning.

Rod had many adventures traveling with Rosie, their children, and grandchildren. From the mountains of B.C and Alberta, the red sand cliffs of P.EI, and to the the sights of San Francisco and down the California coastal highway they made life long memories together.

Rod loved camping and spent the better part of 40 years camping at Sunny Valley Park forming lifelong friendships. He even camped on his honeymoon, and toughed out the unexpected snowfall. Rod was known for breaking out in random song around the campfire (or pretty much anywhere), for his many quirky funny phrases, and for his wealth of wisdom. With his easy going nature and ability to find humour in almost any situation, everyone loved being around Rod.

The family will receive friends at the Chatterson Funeral Home, 404 Hurontario Street, Collingwood on Tuesday July 2, 2024 from 6p.m. to 9p.m., with a Funeral Service to be held at the Salvation Army, 162 Ste. Marie Street, Collingwood on Wednesday July 3, 2024 at 11a.m., with visitation one hour prior.  A reception will follow the funeral service.  Interment at First Presbyterian Cemetery.

Thank you for the memories Rod, dad and grandpa.
