Five days shy of his 81st birthday, Jim passed away on March 7, 2025, at Campbell House Hospice, Collingwood.
Born in Belleville, Ontario, on March 12, 1944, Jim was predeceased by his parents, Agnes McDonald (formerly Bell, nee Clairmont) and Ronald Bell, as well as his brothers Richard and Wayne. Much loved partner of Barb Murdock of Creemore. Very proud father of Suzan Bell (Jamie MacDonald) of Guelph and Matthew Bell of Stratford. Fondly remembered by their mother, Linda. Jim was a wonderful friend to Barb’s son Conor (Andi) Murdock of Frederick MD and daughter Seana Murdock of Creemore. So happy to be the Grampy of Seana’s children Arlo and Ophelia.
Until 2001, Jim was a long-time resident of Goderich. Throughout his adult life, his love of fast ball, curling, hunting, fishing, woodworking and the great outdoors was reflected in his always positive outlook on life. When his cancer journey began at the age of 69, Jim said more than once,” If I make it to 80, I’ll be happy”. Well, Jim, you achieved your goal, and then some. Rest in peace, my love.
Cremation has taken place. Jim’s ashes will rest in the family plot in Trenton and at his beloved Cape Croker on the Bruce Peninsula. An informal celebration of life will be held at a future date. Memorial donations to Hospice Georgian Triangle Foundation would be very much appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to Fawcett Funeral Home – Creemore.
