FEBRUARY 3, 1930 – JUNE 24, 2024

Born in Essex County, passed away peacefully at her home after a 10-year battle with dementia.  Marguerite had 3 careers, tobacco farmer, chiropractic receptionist and hairdresser.  She loved being with people and was always willing to lend a hand no matter how busy she was.  A 50-year member of the Catholic Women’s League she regularly baked her famous raisin bread for their catering functions.  She was an extremely hard worker.  Family was her greatest joy and meant everything to her.   Thanks, extended to Dr’s Scott Houston and Alex Pearce for their wonderful medical care and compassion.  Nurses and PSW’s from Saint Elizabeth that provided home care over the many years.

They all provided great comfort and care to her helping her to remain in her home throughout.  Mom was a fighter. I could still see glimpses of her personality pushing through the dementia until the end.  She fought so hard to stay with us even when her tired body told her it was time for her to leave us. She was the glue that held our family together.  There is a tremendous hole in all our hearts with her passing. While not having much formal education as many women in her day, she had smarts you can’t learn from a book and gave incredibly sound advice.  We all leaned on her for that. She was just a wonderful person and she touched so many people throughout her 94+ years with her smile, laughter, caring and compassion.

MOM, WE WILL SEE YOU ON THE OTHER SIDE ONE DAY.

Pre-deceased by husband Valere (1984), her parents Cyriel (1989) and Maria Mattan (1984).
