Pauline Dorothy Dynes (nee Riding) was born in Liverpool, England. Predeceased by her parents Ron Riding & Jean Calder. Survived by her loving husband of 38 years Michael. Her children Michelle (Jeff) Poulsen, Shawn (Julie) Hilts, stepson and stepdaughter Michael Jr. Dynes (Renee), Christine (Shawn), Tracy (Randy) Dynes & Dave Dynes. Grandchildren Alex (Lindsay) Findlay, Mackenzie (Samantha) Dynes, Ariel, Kirstin, Karlen, Hanne, Holly, Emma, Seth, Noah & Alicia. Great Grandchildren Wren, Rudy & Emmie. Survived by sister Jean (Brian) Speight, Althea (George) Frasca, predeceased by sister Sandi & brother Robert. Always loved by many nieces and nephews. There are too many friends to mention as Dorothy was a social butterfly and loved by many.

She went through 5 years of battling cancer and put up a fight that never ended.

Special thanks to her team of doctors, Dr. Yu of RVH, Dr. K. McLaughlin, her nurse Kim, her special friends from Hospice Barb, Sharon and Vanessa who gave her strength and support at every visit. The care she has been given at Campbell House in Collingwood and their staff members has made her final days peaceful.

Dorothy’s love for her grandchildren was endless. Her greatest gift in life was each time a baby was born, a sparkle came to her eyes and the need to see them came like a train. She always said babysitting was a gift from God.

Dorothy was a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 63 for over 45 years. It was one of the many ways she could give back to the community and it gave her great pride. She was also a member of the CWL at St. Mary’s and considered the ladies of the group part of her family.

Family and friends will be received for visitation at Fawcett Funeral Home – Collingwood Chapel on Thursday September 5, 2024, from 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday September 6, 2024. at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church in Stayner. Interment at St. Mary’s cemetery in Collingwood. In lieu of flowers a donation to Hospice Georgian Triangle – Campbell House in memory of Dorothy would be greatly appreciated.
