October 27, 1946 - February 4, 2021
Gloria Janet Harasowsky passed away peacefully at Campbell House after a brave battle with cancer. She was a beloved wife to Bob Harasowsky, and devoted mother to Bev (Kevin), Darlene (Nigel), and Michelle (Attila). Gloria got great joy from her grandchildren Allen, Tim, Nicole, Magda and Stella, as well as her great-grandchildren Landon and Riley.
Born in Toronto, she was predeceased by her father Robert Kerr and mother Mary Joan, and her sister Deborah. She is survived by her brothers Douglas and Edward.
Gloria was a long time employee of Canada Post in Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, and Barrie. She liked to fill her days in retirement with crafting, reading, gardening, and especially spending time with her friends and family. She enjoyed activities with local seniors groups such as Beachcombers Probus, Wasaga Beach Cruisers, and a Friday Morning Breakfast Club.
Gloria made genuine connections with those she met, and is fondly remembered for her distinctive laugh. She was loving, caring, funny, and sociable. She especially loved to host people in her home. She was always able to take charge in any situation, being protective, full of spirit, and very resilient in the face of hardship. Above all, she would do anything for her family.
The family would like to thank her family doctor, Dr. Janet Clarke, and Dr. Isabel Li of RVH Oncology, as well as the teams of health professionals with St. Elizabeth Home and Community Care and Campbell House, Hospice Georgian Triangle for their compassionate care.
Gloria was beloved by so many whose lives she touched with her kindness. She was the matriarch and backbone of our family. Our hearts are broken to lose her, but we take comfort in knowing that she is resting peacefully.
Cremation has taken place at Carruthers & Davidson Funeral Home in Wasaga Beach. In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice Georgian Triangle would be appreciated. Celebration of Life will be planned in the future. To sign Gloria’s Book of Memories, please visit www.carruthersdavidson.com
“I shall pass through
this world but once.
Any good therefore,
that I can do, or any
Kindness that I can show
To any Human Being
Let me do it now.
Let me not defer or
neglect it, for I shall not
pass this way again.”
