We are deeply saddened to announce that our beloved Sandy, passed away at Campbell House Hospice Georgian Triangle, on Saturday, July 6, 2024, with her loving family by her side. Sandy was born in Toronto, on February 7, 1938, the third child of Rupert and Aileen Bain. Sandy grew up at Graydon Hall, where she developed her passion for animals, sports and the outdoors. As a child, Sandy was happiest riding her beloved horses or mucking about in the stable.

Sandy attended Havergal College, Huron College and later in life York University. After marrying, she settled in the Kingsway, where she would raise her family, while enthusiastically volunteering in the community.

Sandy loved and treasured people, and could make everyone she met feel special. Whether on the golf course at Beaumaris, the ski slopes of Craigleith, or on one of her many travel adventures with David, she was happiest surrounded by her many friends.

She leaves behind the love of her life, David; her three children, Leslie Cowan, Susie Raymond (Dave), and Fraser Hore (Essie); and her grandchildren, who lovingly called her “Famma,” (Samantha and Sean Cowan, Tyler, Dylan, Grace and Tessa Raymond, Lumi and Saana Hore).

The many doctors, nurses and volunteers of Campbell House, who helped Sandy on her journey, will forever have the deep gratitude of the entire Hore family. A special thanks to Ellisa Brown, who cared for Sandy so lovingly.

Sandy famously loved a cocktail party and was equally famous for being the last to arrive and the last to leave. In that spirit, the family will be hosting a celebration of her life at Osler Bluff Ski Club, 795534 The Blue Mountains Clearview Townline,  Collingwood  from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. on Friday August 16, 2024.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation in Sandy’s name to Hospice Georgian Triangle, would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to Fawcett Funeral Home.
