June 25, 1929 to January 22, 2025.
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Michelina Iadinardi, who passed away peacefully, in her home, January 22, 2025, at the age of 95, surrounded by loving family.
Michelina was predeceased by parents Rosina Arcaro and Antonio Carlucci; a sister Giovanni, a brother Valentino, and her loving husband Costantino (Tony) in 1993. She is survived by her children Andy Iadinardi (Judy); Clementine Schock (Tom); Italia Stephens; Maryanne Harper (Keith); and Rosemary Zammit. Michelina was blessed with 14 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Michelina was born in Santa Maria del Molise, Isernia, Italy, the oldest of 11 children. Michelina and Tony married in 1950, bravely starting their life of adventure, immigrating to Canada, Tony coming a year earlier, mom following in 1952 with 9-month-old twins in tow. They settled in a small community in Northern Ontario, (Ignace) and after four years decided to move to a warmer area of Ontario. They purchased a small farm in Maxwell, Ontario where they raised their family. In 1991 they moved into their new home in Collingwood where they wanted to spend their retirement years. Sadly, Tony passed away too soon.
Mom was a very kind-hearted and generous person sharing her home for visits, and anyone needing to stay short term or longer. Her door was always open. She loved her family, and her grandchildren held a special place in her heart. Photos of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her most prized possessions.
The family wishes to express their deep gratitude to Dr. Jonathan Smith, and his staff for their wonderful care over the years. Thank you also to the Palliative Care Team of nurses and PSW workers in her final days. We are grateful to Rhonda for her exceptional care of mom over the last few years so that her wish to remain in her home was realized.
Arrangements are entrusted to Fawcett Funeral Homes, Collingwood. Services will be held in the spring.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice. Friends may visit Michelina's online Book of Memories at www.fawcettfuneralhomes.com
