November 20, 1947 - February 13, 2025

Muriel died peacefully on Thursday, February 13, 2025  at Campbell House Hospice, Collingwood at the age of 77.

She is lovingly remembered by her children Beth (Sarah Bruer), Andy and Ian (Tara Anderson), grandchildren Marshall, Kieran, Ainsley and Teagan, sisters Joyce Reger and Ruth (Mike) Baker.  She will also be missed by her extended family and friends.

She was predeceased by her high school sweetheart and husband, Gordon in 2022.  This year, they are reunited just in time for Valentine’s Day.

Muriel was a quiet person with a big heart who always went out of her way to make others feel welcome. She loved to bake,  to knit and crochet, to play cards with family and friends, to do jigsaw puzzles, and to take care of the people she loved. Ever practical, she approached life with a get-it-done attitude.

An alumni of Queen’s University (B.Sc.), she kept the books and did most of the administration for the family computer business for many years, the Johnson Group once in Collingwood and later for the breeding program that Muriel and Gord had with Golden Retrievers. She continued to put her skills to work after she moved to Balmoral with Bid Euchre and producing the community phone list.

Friends are invited to join her family at Centennial United Church, 234 William Street, Stayner on Friday, February 21st for a Memorial Service  at 1 p.m. followed by refreshments (because Muriel would never want anyone to leave a celebration in her honour hungry). The ceremony will be available to view via Live Streaming. The link is available in the Book of Memories. In lieu of flowers, a donation to Centennial United Church, Hospice Georgian Triangle Foundation for Campbell House or any charity of your choice would be appreciated.
