Allan E. Mattacott Friday October 1, 1937 – Monday November 7, 2022
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Al, at the age of 85, with his wife Sandy by his side on November 7, 2022, at Southlake Health Centre in Newmarket. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years. He will be missed by his many nieces and nephews from Canada and Scotland.
Al was born in the Beaches area; he attended Adam Beck Public School then onto Malvern Collegiate. He worked at IBM for 36 years followed by his retirement in beautiful Collingwood. He was involved in Meals on Wheels, Junior Achievement, and the Hospital Foundation. He loved playing Pickleball here and in Florida. He enjoyed the Blue Jays, Toronto Argos, and the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Cremation has taken place. Family and friends will be received for visitation at Fawcett Funeral Home in Collingwood on Monday November 14, 2022, from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Private interment at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Collingwood. A celebration of life will be held in the spring. A special thank you to all the Southlake nurses and doctors for taking such good care of him.
