James Allan McKenzie passed away peacefully at his home in Caledon, Ontario on Sunday, February 9, 2025.
Gone far too soon, James leaves a lasting legacy as a loving son, beloved brother, uncle, friend, stepdad and grampa. He was a loyal and treasured friend and best friend to many.
A millwright by trade, James was larger than life, fun-loving, witty and charismatic. He was well known for his mischievous sense of humour, talent at weaving an unforgettable tale, his zest for life, and his ability to make you laugh even in the worst of situations. He will be profoundly missed.
James is predeceased by his parents Blaine and Carol McKenzie of Collingwood. He leaves behind sisters Susie (Len) and Lisa-Dawn (Stan), stepdaughters Dawn and Shyanne, granddaughter Demi, as well as nieces and nephews, McKenzie, Alexandra, Carleigh, Neil, Holly, Susannah, Benjamin, Liam, Conor James, Mya and Monroe as well as his much-adored dogs Bufford and Lily. His optimism, caring and generosity of spirit were limitless; so much so that just in his last few months James had come forward to be tested as a living kidney donor for his niece.
A celebration of life for family and friends will be held Friday, February 21 from 1-4 at the Collingwood Shrine Club, 2265 Fairgrounds Rd Clearview, ON, L9Y 3Z7.
