Died unexpectedly at the Collingwood General & Marine Hospital on Saturday, March 15, 2025 just shy of his 66th birthday.
John, of Wasaga Beach, will be lovingly remembered by his dear friend Susan Rasmussen, her daughter Alexandra Morrison, his extended family and many friends.
Jigger loved to go fishing, getting his nickname when he was hooked in the ear by a jig; he also enjoyed watching hockey… “Go Leafs Go”. He was a lobster fisherman in Nova Scotia before moving to Ontario and was part of the crew who worked on building the Terry Fox Highway. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the Carruthers & Davidson Funeral Home, 509 River Road West, Wasaga Beach. A celebration of Jigger’s life will be planned for a later date, with details to follow when available.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the St. Noel Chabanel Catholic Church or the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. To sign Jigger’s Book of Memories, please visit www.carruthersdavidson.com
