September 19, 1933- November 25, 2024

Jim passed away at home on November 25, 2024  with illnesses that were complicated by a recent bout of pneumonia. He was 91 years young and will be dearly missed.

Jim married his High School sweetheart Wilma Joan Milley in 1956, then graduated from the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Dentistry in 1957.  They opened their first dental practice in the village of Madoc, ON.  then moved the practice to Rexdale, ON and afterwards to Etobicoke ON.

Jim’s humble life of service was dedicated to his family and community.  He served as a young President of Kiwanis and after retiring to the area of Thornbury, ON in 1994, he was an avid Rotarian and founding member of the Beaver Valley Probus Club. He was also an active member of Grace United Church in Thornbury.

An award-winning woodcarver, Jim taught and encouraged other artists in his home studio overlooking the orchards and fields of Clarksburg.

After Wilma’s passing in 2013, Jim met Dianne Nixon in a Bereavement Support Group. They enjoyed their lives in Thornbury before moving to Chartwell Balmoral Seniors’ Residence in Collingwood in 2021.

Jim is predeceased by parents Lincoln and Lorena (née Cole); first wife Wilma; brothers-in-law David and Bob Milley; sisters-in-law Renata and Anne Milley.

From his first marriage, he is survived by children Laura (David Jennings), Daniel, Bill, Dave (Kelly Sowden); grandchildren Emily (Ben Crase), Calvin (Natalie Peelish), Ella and Kayley O’Brien; great-grandchildren Malcom and Charlotte Crase; several adoring nieces and nephews and their families.

From his second marriage, Jim is survived by Dianne Nixon, her daughter Tracy, and grandchildren Janine and Anne.
