February 13, 1932 – January 9, 2025
The family of Karl Eugen Ogger of Wasaga Beach is saddened to announce his passing on January 9 at the age of 92 years.
He will be lovingly remembered by his sons: Heiko Buecking (Betty-Jane) and Robert (Jill); grandchildren: Sandra, Krista, Karl (Brittany), and Keira; great-grandchildren: Adele, Ava, and EJ; sister: Elisabeth Strudel; as well as numerous friends.
He was predeceased by his loving wife of 58 years, Anneliese; as well as 11 brothers and sisters in Germany.
Karl was an avid skier. He skied all over the world through to age 89. He also cherished time with family and friends at the family cottage he owned on Lake of Bays for 52 years. He retired from de Havilland Aircraft in 1998. Karl was active in the Wasaga Beach community as a member of the Wasaga Ganaraska Hiking Trail Club. As a member of the PROBUS Club, he helped build the monument and replica of the airplane known as the Trail of the Caribou, which took off from Wasaga Beach on the first successful overseas flight from Canada.
A Visitation will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 25, 2025, followed by a Memorial Service at 3:00 PM and refreshments afterwards, at Carruthers & Davidson Funeral Home, 509 River Road West, Wasaga Beach, Ontario.
