Cheryl Anne Raymond born October 11, 1948, in Toronto, died October 16, 2024.

Cheryl Anne Raymond (nee Smith), born in Toronto, passed away peacefully at Campbell House Hospice in Collingwood, Ontario on October 16, 2024, at the age of 76.

Predeceased by her love, Robert (Bob) Raymond in 1998. Beloved mother of Kevin Birdsall (Alana), Grandmother to William and Parker. Aunt to many nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews.

Cheryl had fond memories of summers spent in Wasaga Beach at the family cottage when she was growing up. She later purchased her own place on the Nottawasaga River where she lived and loved to spend her free time up until her passing.

Cheryl was an active volunteer over the years with Scouts Canada, The Toronto Star Santa Claus Fund and other volunteer organizations. She was a member of Etobicoke Hand Weavers and Spinners Guild and actively competed in the annual weaving competition at the Royal Winter Fair. She also displayed her weaving at the Toronto One of Kind show.

The family would like to thank all the staff at Walker Cancer Center in St. Catharines, and Campbell House Hospice in Collingwood for the care and compassion during mom’s fight over the past 5 years. We would particularly like to thank the nurses that have provided care (including our favourite nurse) for continually demonstrating that nursing is more than a career, it’s a calling.

Cremation has taken place, and no formal service will be held. A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring. Donations in lieu of Flowers to Hospice Georgian Triangle Foundation in Collingwood or Walker Cancer Center in St. Catharines.
