RAYNSFORD, Michael George

It is with deep sadness that our family announces the passing of Michael George Raynsford on Friday September 13, 2024, in his 81st year.  Michael was born in Hillingdon England, and emigrated to Canada with his parents Joyce and George in 1954.

Family meant everything to Michael; he was devoted to his wife of 57 years, Glennis, and was a loving and proud dad to their sons Chris (Elizabeth) and Ian.  He was the best Papa to granddaughter, Brooke (Luke).  He will be dearly missed by Brooke's mom Kelly Sinclair (Jeff), his sister-in-law, Susan Harrison and other family and friends.

Michael was a graduate of Wycliffe College and served as a Lay Minister with the Anglican Church of Canada for many years.  Michael was also a well-respected community member having served as a Peel Regional Auxiliary Police sergeant (1995 Officer of the Year), Scout leader, and baseball coach. Michael retired in 1997 following a successful 38-year career with CIBC.

The Raynsford family would like to thank the nursing and personal support staff of the Meaford Long Term Care Home for their tireless care and kindness.  In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society of Simcoe County would be appreciated.

There will be a private family service, with a memorial gathering at a later date.

Hear what comfortable words our Saviour Christ saith unto all who truly turn to him. Come unto me all that labour and are heavy laden, and I will refresh you.

The Book of Common Prayer.
