With sorrow we announce that Wendy Jane Shaw passed away peacefully on Monday June 24, 2024, at Campbell House Hospice in Collingwood at the age of 61.

Born to parents Lucille and John “Jack” Shaw in Kleinburg, Ontario, she enjoyed many close family relations growing up. She would later raise her own children in the Parry Sound area.  More recently, Wendy reconnected with her childhood sweetheart Gary Fulford, settling down in Collingwood.

Cherished memories will endure with her loving partner and best friend Gary Fulford. Wendy’s resilient spirit will live on in her children Amanda Essaunce, Amber Essaunce, Austin Sopher (Jessica).

Wendy was proud to become a grandmother to Wren and honoured to be Nana to River; her fun and generous nature will be remembered.

She will be remembered fondly by her sisters Yvonne (Leo) and Judy (Ray), brother Jeff (Doug), mother-in-law Evelyn Fulford, Gary’s son Justin Fulford (Jennifer), nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

She will also be missed by her loyal canine companions Shelby and Cherry.

Wendy found solace in the simple pleasures, she loved spending time at the beach and being near the water, this brought her peace.

Wendy’s life is best characterized as one who truly loved others. She was a dedicated mother to her children, always working hard to provide for them and putting them first.  When faced with challenges, Wendy took everything one day at a time, she had a fighting spirit and determination like no other.  She was smart, funny, cheeky, feisty and left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.

Family and friends will be received for visitation at Fawcett Funeral Home – Collingwood Chapel on Friday July 5, 2024, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the chapel at 1 p.m. on Saturday July 6, 2024, with a reception to follow.  In lieu of flowers donations in Wendy’s memory may be made to Hospice Georgian Triangle – Campbell House or SunnyBrook Hospital – Odette Cancer Center who gave amazing support to Wendy.
