It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Edward Frank Shelepuk “Ed” on Wednesday October 30, 2024, at the Collingwood General & Marine Hospital.
Ed will be deeply missed by his wife Peggy (nee West) and daughter Kate Shelepuk (Jamie). Ed was born in Toronto on December 18, 1944, to parents Frank and Mary Shelepuk. He is survived by his sister Shirley (Mike) Muzychka; predeceased by his brother Ron (Mary). He will be remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and the entire West family.
As a father, Ed offered a wealth of wisdom; he and Kate worked on many projects together and he cherished the time he spent with her. He was a skilled high-performance mechanic and was proud to own and operate his business, E&P Auto. He also reproduced antique furniture; working with his hands came naturally and he was very talented. He loved racecars, hot rods and model airplanes. Ed was well known for his ability to diagnose a car’s problem (often from sound alone) and could fix and rebuild just about anything.
His memory will forever be cherished by his family and friends. Ed’s life will be celebrated at the Royal Canadian Legion Collingwood at 2 p.m. on Friday November 8, 2024. In lieu of flowers donations in Ed’s memory can be made to the Royal Canadian Legion Poppy Fund or the Georgian Triangle Humane Society.
