With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jean Stayner, née Janina Kuza, on September 1, 2024, at the age of 86. Jean was born on April 27, 1938, in Poland. She and her beloved husband, Joseph Stayner (Josip Stajner), immigrated to Canada, where they worked tirelessly to provide a better life for their family. Eventually, they settled in Wasaga Beach, where they ran a motel for 18 years, creating a warm and welcoming home for their loved ones.

Jean was known for her kindness, her love of gardening, and her appreciation for a good ham sandwich. Her extraordinary baking skills, especially her legendary pierogis, brought joy to everyone around her. She was a pillar of strength, always ready with open arms and a warm smile, offering comfort and love to her family and friends.

Jean was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph Stayner. She is survived by her son, Joseph Stayner Jr.; her grandchildren, Christopher and Cole Stayner; and her cherished nieces and nephew, Margie, Christina, Yolanda, and Andrew. Jean will be deeply missed by her extended family and friends, who will forever remember her warmth, generosity, and the love she shared with everyone she met.  A small graveside service honouring Jean's life will be held on September 6, 2024, at 2:00 PM at the Wasaga Beach Cemetery, 610 Sunnidale Rd, Wasaga Beach.

Jean's loving spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.  To sign Jean’s Book of Memories, please visit www.carruthersdavidson.com
