Died peacefully on Monday October 14, 2024 at Campbell House Hospice, Collingwood at the age of 90. Merle of Wasaga Bach, formerly of New Lowell, beloved husband of Betty. Loving father of Darrell (Lisa), Kent (Jeannie), Kendra (Ian Dundas) and the late Brad and stepfather of Frank (Ellen Fisher), Jo Anna (the late Sandy Lamont) and Melissa (Ken Meesters). Cherished grandfather of Brianna Cosman, Jessica Nakashima, Andrew Stetler, Riley Stetler, Luke Stetler, Miles Dundas, Kaelyn Dundas, Braden Fisher, Jacob Fisher, Jenna Fisher, Candice Lamont, Zeita Lamont, Alicia Meesters, and Taylor Meesters and great grandfather of seven great grandchildren.
Merle was a kind and gentle man. He dedicated his life to farming and his family. He was well known in his community as a school bus driver and was committed to his church community. He enjoyed singing in the choir and volunteering at Camp Simpresca. His legacy of community involvement will live on.
Friends will be received at the Carruthers & Davidson Funeral Home – Wasaga Beach Chapel, 509 River Road West, Wasaga Beach on Saturday October 26, 2024 from 10 a.m. for the Memorial Service in the Chapel at 11 o’clock.
