Died peacefully on Thursday Jan. 2 at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre, Barrie, at the age of 83. Greta of New Lowell, formerly of Walkerton, beloved wife of the late Leo (2013). Loving mother of the 5. Alan(predeceased), Elaine, Joyce (Shane Hebert), Linda and Albert (Karina). Cherished Beppe of Alyssa Forde, Steven VanDerLey, Paige (Richard Marshall), Rachel VanDerLey, Colton Hebert and Lauren VanDerLey and great Beppe to Sylver, Aria and Declan. Dear sister of the late Hermina (the late Hank Dyk), Tina (the late Jack Sytsma), Peter (the late Marj) Geertsma, Oeds (the late Ruth) Geertsma, John (Linda) Geertsma, the late Jim Geertsma, the late Jane (Rodney Fitzsimmons), Mary (John Dykstra) and Maureen (John Peet). She will also be missed by her many nieces and nephews, her fellow parishioners and her friends. Greta was a kind woman of strong faith. She spent her life working hard as a restauranteur and a retailer. She enjoyed creating handcrafts by knitting and crocheting, many of which are now treasured family keepsakes.
Funeral Service at Collingwood Christian Reformed Church, 7642 Poplar Sideroad, Collingwood. On Tuesday Jan. 7 at 11 a.m. with visitation one hour prior (10 a.m.).
