Gary Frank Young of Collingwood, ON (formerly of Toronto), passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Saturday, October 9th 2021, at the age of 78.
Anyone who knows Gary knows that he wasn’t one for sappy good-byes, nor one for many words. He loved his family and showed it all the time. He will be sadly missed by his wife and love of his life, Penny, his daughter Lisa (John), son Jeff (Kathryn), his grandkids Haley (Brandon), Rowan, Logan and Isla, as well as his stepchildren Sheryl (Joe), Stacey, Tammy (Mike) Michelle (Steven), and Noel (Tracy) and all the grandkids and great grandchildren. Gary will be sadly missed by his sisters Sandy (Bill), and Shirley (Grant). Gary is predeceased by his parents Frank Wesley Young (Ollie) and Daisy Young.
Gary will always be remembered by his family and friends by his gorgeous smile, his bright eyes and his dancing feet. Others will remember Gary as a fashion icon in Toronto from his men’s store Gary Young’s Men’s Wear, and, Cheeseworth Cleaners and Invisible Mending. A special thank you to all the wonderful health care professionals that helped him along the way.
At this time there will be no service, but don’t you worry, there will be one hell of a bash in both Bucerias, Mexico (December 2021), and in Collingwood Ontario (May 2022) so get your dancing shoes ready.
Any expressions of sympathy can be made by donation in Gary’s name to The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Dignified Funeral Alternatives Barrie, ON.
