A Toronto man has been charged following an investigation into drug trafficking in Collingwood and Wasaga Beach.
The Collingwood and The Blue Mountains OPP began an investigation into cocaine and fentanyl trafficking in January. On Thursday, members of the local detachment, as well as Huronia West and Orillia OPP, executed a search warrant at a residence on 73rd Street South in Wasaga Beach.
Police seized fentanyl, cocaine, and pharmaceutical narcotics estimated to be worth more than $9,000. They also recovered more than $2,000 in Canadian currency.
The suspect was arrested without incident.
The 30-year-old man has been charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking, breach of a conditional sentence order, and possession of an imitation weapon for a dangerous purpose.
The accused remains in custody following a bail hearing and will appear in Collingwood court at a later date.
