Provincial police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run involving a transport truck and a pedestrian early this morning in Springwater Township, just outside Barrie.
At about 2:40 a.m. on Sept. 11, Huronia West OPP received a report from paramedics of a deceased male at the side of Highway 26, between Carson Road and Hanmer Road.
The transport truck was not there when officers arrived, police say.
The driver of the transport truck was identified and located.
Police say the investigation is ongoing and more information will be released when it is available.
The road was closed between Carson Road and Hanmer Road until 11 a.m. for the investigation.
