Robbery suspect demands cash at Markdale business, flees in vehicle

Area police are asking for help finding a suspect involved in a robbery in Markdale yesterday. 

According to the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), someone went into a business on Toronto Street in Markdale at 9:15 p.m. on March 20, told the store clerk "this is a robbery," and demanded cash. 

The suspect made off with $150 in cash, fleeing in a vehicle southbound on Highway 10 toward Flesherton. 

Police say there were no injuries reported. 

In addition to surveillance footage, OPP released a description of the robbery suspect. 

The suspect is described as female, five-feet-two-inches tall, white skin, very thin and with a deep, feminine voice. Her nails were painted bright red with sparkles and she was wearing a camo baseball hat, a grey hoodie with "Caterpillar" written on the arm, black pants, white shoes, a red bandana and ski goggles. 

The Grey Bruce OPP is requesting anyone with video surveillance before and after March 20, 2025, at 9:15 a.m., in the area of Toronto Street and Highway 10 South towards Flesherton or anyone with information to call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
