Local artists! Art on the Street returns for 2025. Submit your work for the Street Art Chairs or the Street Art Banners.
Collingwood’s vibrant Art on the Street is an annual celebration of creativity that transforms the community into a free, accessible outdoor gallery for locals and visitors alike to enjoy. Art on the Street brings life to Collingwood’s core with two unique elements that are true crowd-pleasers – art banners that line the streets and art chairs sprinkled throughout public spaces. Together, they elevate the downtown experience with bursts of colour, creativity, and charm.
Art Banners will return to light poles throughout the downtown area, offering a showcase of work across mediums like photography, pottery, painting, wood carving, sculpture, stained glass, and much more.
Art Chairs, the ultimate blend of function and flair, will take pride of place in key locations. These one-of-a-kind masterpieces are as comfortable as they are stunning, inviting residents and visitors to sit and soak in the artistic ambiance of Collingwood.
The outdoor gallery kicks off on the May long weekend and runs through the spring, summer, and fall, wrapping up on Thanksgiving weekend. It’s the perfect way to celebrate the seasons and support local talent in a beautiful, dynamic setting.
Art on the Street is a chance to be part of something special in the community. Here’s why artists should leap at this chance to shine:
- No Entry Fee: That’s right, it won’t cost you a penny to submit your designs and images.
- Unmatched Exposure: Selected artists will have their work featured in both a print brochure and its digital counterpart, distributed widely across the region. The brochure will include your name, website, and contact details, making it a great marketing opportunity for your art.
- Immense Community Support: Be part of an initiative that not only inspires community pride but puts local artists on a pedestal.
All submissions will go through a juried selection process, judged on creativity, originality, and artistic balance. Complete details, including how to apply for the Art Chairs or Art Banners, are available here. Submissions must be sent in before the deadline on March 7, 2025.
Current and past participants are encouraged to apply and share this fantastic opportunity with other creative minds. For inquiries, email [email protected]. Please indicate Art on the Street 2025 banners or chairs in the subject line. Or, you may call 705-441-6088 for more information.
