Does the recent rain and cold spell have you craving some heat? Better get your groove on and grab the hottest ticket in town…to Carnival North, at the Collingwood Brewery.

This lime-icious outdoor event is happening August 17 from 2 to 11 p.m., and is Collingwood’s first and only celebration of Caribbean culture.

“It’s like a Caribbean fete in your own backyard…but no planning on your part required!” explained Carnival North co-director, Kicha Holden. “I’ve been a proud resident of Collingwood since 1992. It makes me so happy to finally be able to celebrate my own culture in my own backyard with my friends and neighbours.”

Featured entertainment includes IzahVibe International Masquerades, in full costume, along with The New Dimension Steelpan Orchestra to set the vibes. DJs Amanda Revs, Bass and Tasha Rozez will be bringing their premiere island sounds to the event as well.

There will be lots of food vendors, bringing specialty Caribbean and other cuisine for everyone’s enjoyment. Carnival North is a fully licensed event, but is totally kid-friendly as well.

“We are excited to announce our Kidz Zone, with midway inflatable games of all sorts, and the Turbo Rush Obstacle Course, where the kids have to navigate obstacles, conquer the climbing wall, and then slide to the finish line,” explained Holden. “Between all these fun activities and the incredible music and costumes, we can guarantee the whole family will have an amazing time at Carnival North.”

The beautiful gardens of the Collingwood Brewery will be transformed into a Caribbean paradise on this unforgettable day of rhythmic music, dancing, unforgettable costumes, light, and food. “It will be a Caribbean feast for the senses!” exclaimed Holden.
