Hospice Georgian Triangle, a provider of compassionate care for those facing life-limiting illnesses in The Towns of Blue Mountains, Collingwood, Wasaga Beach, and Clearview Township, is seeking community leaders to join its board of directors.

The organization, known for providing exceptional palliative care at no cost to patients, emphasizes a holistic approach that addresses the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of both patients and their families, thereby enhancing the quality of life for as long as possible.

The board provides executive oversight to staff and volunteers providing end-of-life care at Campbell House, pain and symptom management, respite care, volunteer support in the home, and community services, including individual and group grief and bereavement counselling.

Opportunities for leadership and service

The Hospice Georgian Triangle board is seeking candidates eager to advance and contribute to our mission of “excellent palliative care for all.”

Volunteers on the board play a crucial role in shaping Hospice Georgian Triangle's mission, vision, values, and strategic goals. Their responsibilities extend to overseeing financial and operational performance, risk management, participation in committee efforts, and serving as advocates and ambassadors for the organization.

Criteria for candidacy

The board seeks to maintain a balanced composition of skills, education, and experience and is particularly interested in candidates with a background in healthcare leadership, legal expertise, or senior business management.

A key preference is for individuals residing within the communities served by the hospice.

Commitment and participation

Board members are expected to dedicate approximately six to eight hours per month, which includes attending monthly board meetings and participating in at least two committees.

Those interested in contributing their expertise and leadership to Hospice Georgian Triangle are encouraged to submit a letter of interest along with a resume or a summary of their experiences to Stacey Lindsay at [email protected]
