Blue Ridge Meats’ John Brady isn’t satisfied with just providing delicious, premium, locally sourced meats in Collingwood, through his craft butchery. He wants to support his community as well. But he needs your help to do it.

Brady and Blue Ridge Meats are offering the community a chance to step up with the Blue Ridge Meats $2 button.

“Every time a customer hits that $2 button at check out, they can directly contribute to feeding the at-risk youth living at Home Horizon’s Barbara Weider House in Collingwood!” said Brady.

Barbara Weider House is a safe, transitional home for youth aged 16 to 24 facing homelessness in the Collingwood area. Since opening in July 2017, it has been full, with a waiting list, showcasing the ever-growing need in our community.

Barbara Weider House provides even more than housing.

‘We have 24-hour on-site supervision,” said a spokesperson. “We offer cooking and laundry facilities, a community kitchen, cooking classes, a common living room to gain social skills, counselling, life skills and life coaching, workshops and more. We customize individual plans for our youth to help them move forward, find permanent housing, and succeed.”

Brady is excited to support Home Horizon’s Barbara Weider House. “We are part of this community, and we believe in giving back,” he said. “Please talk to staff when you come in about how you can help us help them.”

Blue Ridge Meats $2 button campaign is ongoing, with no end in mind currently. “We want to help as much as we can,” said Brady. “Thanks for supporting, Collingwood!”
