Earlier this week, Dr. Ian Arra, medical officer of health for the GBHU, declared the region was nearing a "critical threshold" and asked all residents to isolate for 48-hours in an effort to give the health unit time to catch up on contact tracing efforts.
“Case and contact management is progressing as planned. With the current trajectory, we should be able to regain full control over case and contact management by the end of the day tomorrow, April 17,” Arra reported in today’s situation report.
Active cases in Grey County are currently located in Owen Sound (43), Southgate (8), Grey Highlands (12), the Town of The Blue Mountains (38), Hanover (11), West Grey (11), Meaford (12), Chatsworth (2) and Georgian Bluffs (1).
GBHU is also reporting the region has had a total of 108 cases of Variants of Concern (VOC), 22 of which are active.
There have been five deaths due to COVID-19 in Grey and Bruce combined, and there are currently four Grey-Bruce residents being hospitalized, one in the region and three outside of Grey-Bruce.
Of GBHU’s 1,062 cumulative cases, 888 cases are resolved.
Resolved COVID-19 cases in Grey County include: Owen Sound (148), Southgate (110), Grey Highlands (76), West Grey (50), Blue Mountains (83), Hanover (55), Meaford (26), Georgian Bluffs (11), Chatsworth (19).
