In light of COVID-19 safety protocols, Blue Mountain Resort has announced it will be prioritizing mountain access to season pass holders for the upcoming ski season.

Daily lift tickets will also be tightly regulated and only available for purchase in advance.

“To this end, walk-up window sales will be eliminated, and the sale of most undated lift ticket products will be discontinued until further notice,” said Rusty Gregory, CEO of Alterra Mountain Company, parent company of Blue Mountain Resort in a public statement.

The changes have been made in an effort to avoid overcrowding.

Alterra Mountain will also be enforcing face coverings, social distancing and crowd management on and off the mountain.

“These unprecedented times will continue to challenge us and will require tolerance and effort by all of us to help keep each other healthy and our destinations open for your enjoyment,” Gregory added.

Season passes are currently available for purchase on Blue’s website and, according to Tara Lovell, manager of public relations for Blue Mountain Resort, the resort does not have plans to restrict the sale season passes. However, the resort’s 5x7 early bird and pre-season rates will end after Dec. 10.

"Details about advanced lift ticket sales will be available in the coming weeks. We expect to have lift tickets available online in November," Lovell said.

The resort is not offering any discounts or special offers on season passes or lift tickets to local residents at this time.

“We are all looking forward to getting back to winter at Blue. To help make sure everyone has a great winter experience on the slopes, guests should be prepared to follow our Personal Responsibility Code, wear a mask or face covering and plan ahead by going online in advance of their visit,” Lovell added.
