Blue Mountains and Grey Highlands both report a new case of COVID-19 today

The Grey Bruce Health Unit is reporting six new cases today, 15 active cases in the region

Six new cases of COVID-19 have been reported by the Grey Bruce Health Unit (GBHU) in the past 24-hours.

One resident from the municipality of Grey Highlands and one from the Town of the Blue Mountains (TBM) are among those who have been reported as cases today. Hanover and Kincardine are each reporting two new cases.

The cumulative total number of COVID-19 cases in the Grey-Bruce region is now 198. GBHU also notes two preliminary positive cases are pending confirmation.

The region now has 15 active cases, which are located in Southgate (1), Grey Highlands (5), Blue Mountains (1), Hanover (3) and Kincardine (5).

The municipality of Grey Highlands has now had a total of 18 cases of COVID-19 with the most recent cases being reported on Nov. 9.

The TBM reported its last case of COVID on Oct. 16. TBM has seen a cumulative total of 10 COVID-19 cases.

Of the 198 cumulative cases in GBHU, 170 cases have recovered and 13 cases were referred to other health units.

There are no active hospitalizations or outbreaks in any long-term care facilities, daycares or schools in GBHU.

And, GBHU continues to be one of the only health units in Ontario to have no deaths as a result of COVID-19.

Contact tracing of GBHU cases is currently exceeding provincial targets with 100 per cent of all cases contacted within 24-hours.

Lab-confirmed COVID-19 cases in Grey County included - Owen Sound (65); Southgate (18); Grey Highlands (18); Meaford (13); West Grey (10); Blue Mountains (10); Hanover (6); Georgian Bluffs (2); Chatsworth (1). Bruce County has had 55 confirmed cases.
