Bluewater School Board chair re-elected, vice chair acclaimed

Town of South Bruce Peninsula/Municipality of Northern Bruce Peninsula Trustee Jane Thomson will serve as chair after being elected to the position

The Bluewater District School Board is staying the course with its top leadership.

There are no changes to the positions of board chair and vice chair for the school board after the annual election for the positions at the board’s meeting on Nov. 19.

For a fifth consecutive one-year term, Town of South Bruce Peninsula/Municipality of Northern Bruce Peninsula Trustee Jane Thomson will serve as chair after being elected to the position.

Thomson staved off a challenge from Municipality of Brockton and Municipality of South Bruce trustee Derrick Long.

Acclaimed as vice-chair was Municipality of Kincardine/Township of Huron-Kinloss Trustee Jan Johnstone, who will serve in the position for a fifth straight one-year term.

Thomson and Johnstone will serve in the positions for the next year.
