Bluewater District School Board (BWDSB) wants to hear from members of the public in setting the future direction of the local education system.

At a recent meeting, the board of trustees passed a motion to initiate the process of developing BWDSB’s multi-year strategic plan, which was last updated in 2019. The plan includes a vision, mission, and set of priorities that provide direction to trustees, administrators, and other board staff when it comes to the important decisions and practices that help foster student success and well-being.

To assist with the development of the strategic plan, a public survey is being conducted until June 30, 2024. The survey can be accessed through the board website here, board social media pages or directly here.

Print copies of the survey will be made available upon request by emailing [email protected].

The voluntary and anonymous survey will help to determine board goals and priorities for the next three to five years. All members of the public are being invited to participate, including students, parents/guardians, staff, and community members.

“We welcome the many diverse perspectives and voices from across our district as we revisit the vision, mission, and priorities of our Multi-Year Strategic Plan to help chart our long-term course in Bluewater,” said board Chair Jane Thomson. “Our strategic plan is the touchstone that guides all aspects of our planning and decision-making to ensure we are best supporting every student we serve.”

As required under the Education Act, every school board in Ontario must create a multi-year plan that spans a minimum of three years.
