Starting on Wednesday, long-term care (LTC) homes in Grey County will begin accepting indoor visitors.
“Indoor visitors must have a negative COVID-19 test within the previous two weeks,” said Jennifer Cornell, director of LTC for Grey County.
“The [provincial] policy outlines principles, guidelines and asks the homes to have procedures in place that balance the risks. The safety and emotional wellbeing of our residents continues to be our main focus and we are working quickly to implement the safety measures necessary, details will be released soon,” she added.
A virtual family meeting will be held on Thursday, July 23 to provide further information.
“Our goal is to have visits start slow but grow to ensure continued success and keep our homes COVID-free,” Cornell continued.
It was also recently noted that as of July 15, outdoor visits no longer require COVID testing prior to visiting.
Those visiting outdoors are able to schedule one visit per week. And, the number of visitors allowed has been increased to two visitors per visit.
Both indoor and outdoor visitors must wear face coverings/masks, be actively screened and maintain physical distancing. All visits must be prescheduled, and can be booked through www.grey.ca.
