Meaford reports one new confirmed case of COVID-19 today

The current cumulative total in the Grey Bruce Health Unit's geographic area is now 143, with seven active cases

The Grey Bruce Health Unit (GBHU) has confirmed two new cases of COVID-19 today - one case in Meaford and the other in Kincardine (Bruce County).

On Saturday, GBHU declared an outbreak of COVID-19 at Errinrung, the long-term care (LTC) facility located in Thornbury in the Town of the Blue Mountains (TBM).

According to today’s situation report, Errinrung remains in outbreak status.

The current cumulative total in the region is now 143, with seven active cases.

TBM’s cumulative case count remains at eight. The neighbouring town of Meaford has now had a total of 12 cases.

On Saturday, GBHU also reported one of the new cases involved a health-care worker. Of the 143 cumulative cases in GBHU, 29 cases have been reported in health-care workers.

There are currently no active outbreaks in any daycares or schools within the GBHU area.

GBHU continues to be one of the only health units in Ontario to have no deaths as a result of COVID-19.

Confirmed COVID-19 cases in Grey County include: Owen Sound (57); Southgate (16); Meaford (12); West Grey (9); Blue Mountains (8); Grey Highlands (6); Georgian Bluffs (2); Hanover (2); Chatsworth (1). Bruce County has had 30 confirmed cases.
