MP Alex Ruff accepting nominations for King’s Coronation Medal

In honour of His Majesty King Charles III’s coronation as The King of Canada, the Government of Canada has minted 30,000 Coronation Medals

Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound MP Alex Ruff has announced the process for nominating local citizens for the King’s Coronation Medal.

In a recent news release, Ruff outlined the steps to be taken to nominate deserving residents of Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound for the King’s Coronation Medal.

In honour of His Majesty King Charles III’s coronation as The King of Canada, the Government of Canada has minted 30,000 Coronation Medals. It is the first Canadian commemorative medal to mark His Majesty’s coronation.

The government has allocated 20 medals to each Member of Parliament (MP) to recognize deserving Canadians. MP Ruff will be accepting nominations for Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound residents who have made a significant contribution to Canada or to a particular province, territory, region of, or community in, Canada, or attained an outstanding achievement abroad that brings credit to Canada.

Candidates may only be awarded one Coronation Medal. As well, this medal can be awarded posthumously as long as the recipient was alive on May 6, 2023, the date of The King’s coronation.

“I look forward to recognizing 20 very deserving constituents who have made a difference in Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound with the special Coronation Medal,” said Ruff.

Constituents of Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound can be nominated by completing the form available online here or mailing/ dropping off a completed form at my office. Submissions will be accepted until Sept. 2, 2024.
