No active COVID cases in Grey-Bruce, confirms health unit

The last case of COVID in Grey and Bruce counties was reported on Aug. 13 in Meaford

The Grey Bruce Health Unit (GBHU) is once again reporting zero active cases of COVID-19 in Grey and Bruce Counties.

The health unit had reported having no active cases on July 16.

Since that time a few new cases were confirmed in the region, including two cases reported in the Town of the Blue Mountains

The last new case of COVID was reported on Aug. 13 in the Municipality of Meaford.  

In today’s situation report, GBHU is reporting no new cases of COVID and no active cases.

The current cumulative total cases in the region is 127 with 121 being reported as recovered and six referred to other health units.

The region is also reporting that there are no long-term care homes in outbreak status.

GBHU is one of the only health units in Ontario to continue to have no deaths as a result of COVID.

In recent weeks, the health unit reports being actively involved in supporting the reopening of schools in the region.

GBHU will also be hosting a Facebook Live town hall event on Wednesday, Aug. 26 at 7:00 p.m., which is expected to answer common health-related back-to-school questions.

Confirmed COVID-19 cases in Grey County included - Owen Sound (52); Southgate (16); West Grey (8); Blue Mountains (7); Grey Highlands (6); Meaford (6); Georgian Bluffs (2); Hanover (2); Chatsworth (1). Bruce County has had 27 confirmed cases.
