One new case of COVID-19 reported in Grey Highlands today

The Grey Bruce Health Unit (GBHU) is reporting three new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours - two cases are located in Southgate and one in the Municipality of Grey Highlands.

The cumulative total number of COVID-19 cases in GBHU is now 227.

Of the 227 cumulative cases, 186 cases have recovered and 14 cases were referred to other health units.

There are currently 27 active cases in GBHU, which are located in Southgate (4), Grey Highlands (7), West Grey (2), Blue Mountains (1), Hanover (3) and Kincardine (4); Arran Elderslie (2), Huron Kinloss (2), Brockton (1), Northern Bruce Peninsula (1).

The Municipality of Grey Highlands has now seen a total of 25 cases, with the last case being reported on Nov. 15.   

There are no active hospitalizations or outbreaks in any long-term care facilities, daycares or schools in GBHU.

And, GBHU continues to be one of the only health units in Ontario to have no deaths as a result of COVID-19.

In today’s situation report, GBHU noted going forward it will begin to identify contacts associated with active cases, as well as active probable cases, which are considered cases that are linked to active cases but have not been lab-confirmed.

The current Public Health Classification Level for the Grey-Bruce region is 'green' or 'preventative'.

Lab-confirmed COVID-19 cases in Grey County included - Owen Sound (65); Southgate (24); Grey Highlands (25); Meaford (13); West Grey (12); Blue Mountains (10); Hanover (8); Georgian Bluffs (2); Chatsworth (1). Bruce County has had 67 confirmed cases.
