The Town of The Blue Mountains will be conducting sanitary sewer flushing, cleaning and inspection work throughout the town starting Wednesday, Oct. 16.

The sanitary sewer mains will be flushed/cleaned using high-pressure water between 7:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. beginning Wednesday, Oct. 16 and expected to conclude on Friday, Oct. 25.

There are no anticipated service-related impacts as a result of this work, states a town news release.

However, residents should be aware that the high-pressure cleaning may empty drains and traps within nearby homes. In rare occasions, the pressure cleaning has resulted in water exiting drains and toilets. The public is asked, as a precaution, to close all toilet seats and cover internal drains in sinks, tubs and floors.

After the work is complete, please run water in all plumbing fixtures, including sinks, showers, tubs, and toilets, to ensure that the traps are full.

For more information, please contact the town online here or at: (519) 599-3131 ext. 284.
