The Town of The Blue Mountains is looking for leaks in its water system.
This week, the town advised residents that contractors will start completing inline leak detection work on behalf of the town's water division beginning Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2024.
Work will include leak detection utilizing SmartBall technology, along with valve operation and fire hydrant flushing between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 6 and between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 7.
Work may continue on Friday, Nov. 8 if required. There are no anticipated service-related impacts as a result of this work. However, properties within the work area may temporarily experience lower than normal water pressures and discoloured water. Anybody experiencing discoloured water is asked to run their taps until clarity is restored.
The impacted area will include all properties connected to municipal water between Grey Street in Thornbury, and Arrowhead Road in Craigleith. This will also include all branches off the Highway 26 corridor. A complete list is included on the town's website here.
For more information residents are asked to contact the water department online here or at (519) 599-3131 ext. 284.
