The Town of The Blue Mountains has announced that it has begun a significant bridge replacement project.
Design and engineering work has been completed for the replacement of Bridges 2 and 3 across Mill Creek. The town has tendered the project and HugoMB Contracting Inc. Construction has been selected to do the work.
Construction is expected to begin this month. Local residents will see work occurring on 6th Sideroad just west of 10th Line.
The project includes:
- Removal of existing bridges across Mill Creek on 6th Sideroad;
- Construction of new bridges including headwalls, wingwalls and barriers;
- Construction of a new retaining wall between the two bridges;
- Installation of guide rail;
- Regrading of the road; and
- Restoration of disturbed areas to match existing conditions.
The travelling public and local residents may experience traffic delays, detours, dust, noise, vibrations and other inconveniences during the work.
The town is taking steps to mitigate the impacts by maintaining standard working hours and providing written notice of any planned service interruptions on restrictions.
More information can be found on the project’s webpage.
