The Marsh Street Centre will hold its third annual golf tournament at the Tomahawk Golf Course without having to spend fundraising dollars on green fees.

At its meeting on May 29, The Blue Mountains council agreed to a request from Marsh Street Centre to waive the greens fees for those participating in the fundraising tournament on the morning of Sept. 16.

Marsh Street Centre President Robert Brown and Treasurer Michele Myrah appeared as a delegation at the meeting to request the fee waiver. They thanked the town for its support over the past number of years, particularly for a loan the town extended the organization to help it manage during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Marsh Street Centre paid the loan back in its entirety in September 2022.

“The golf tournament has become very successful,” said Myrah.

Council supported the request in a 7-0 vote.
