TBM wins award for best tasting drinking water

The town received the award after competing in the best tasting water competition at the Ontario Water Works Association annual conference in May 2024

The Town of The Blue Mountains has received a prestigious drinking water award.

At the council meeting on Oct. 21, the Ontario Water Works Association was in attendance to present that town with the Best Tasting Water Award from 2024.

Association president Scott Tam (virtual attendance) and executive director Michele Grenier were on hand to make the special presentation.

Grenier presented the trophy for the award to council at the ceremony.

The town received the award after competing in the best tasting water competition at the association’s annual conference in May 2024. Water providers submit a water sample that is entered into a blind taste test and participants at the conference taste the various samples and vote for the one that tastes the best.

The town will have a chance to defend its title on its home field. The 2025 conference for the association will be held from May 5 - 7 at the Blue Mountain Resort Village Conference Centre.

Staff from the town’s water department all gathered in the council chambers for the special presentation and received congratulations from members of council.

“This is incredible work,” said Mayor Andrea Matrosovs.
