A familiar face will continue to lead the Bluewater District School Board.
On Nov. 21, South Bruce Peninsula/Northern Bruce Peninsula trustee Jane Thomson was elected to her fourth one-year term as board chair. The chair of the board serves a one-year term.
Jan Johnstone, the trustee for Kincardine/Huron-Kinloss will continue to serve as vice-chair. This will be Johnstone’s fourth one-year term in the role.
“We will continue to provide solid leadership to Bluewater when we make governance decisions that are guided by our strategic plan and focus on the achievement and well being of our 18,500 students,” Thomson said at the meeting. “It is our responsibility and privilege to educate the students in Bruce and Grey Counties in schools that are inclusive and accepting of all.”
