Press Releases -

The Town of The Blue Mountains is proud to support the organization, Georgian Bay Forever in its efforts to host community shoreline clean-up events at Little River Park in Thornbury.

Georgian Bay Forever has hosted two shoreline clean-up events this summer at the Thornbury Harbour, resulting in over 28lbs of garbage collected, including over 600 cigarette butts, 115 plastic fragments (many coming from zip ties) and over 56 pieces of fishing line.

Three additional shoreline clean-up dates are scheduled over July and August, and the organization is looking for volunteers to help with the clean-up efforts. The clean-up dates are scheduled for Monday, July 25, Monday, August 8 and Monday, August 22, 2022.

If you would like to volunteer, please contact Georgian Bay Forever by emailing [email protected] or by visiting www.gbf.org.
