WHEREAS, CDKL5 Deficiency Disorder is a rare genetic disorder that is hallmarked by uncontrollable seizures beginning at 6 weeks of age, and neuro developmental delays which impact cognitive, motor, speech and visual function;
AND WHEREAS, as a result of increased awareness and fundraising by patient led organizations, CDKL5 now has an abundance of research happening around the world.
AND WHEREAS, acknowledgments and proclamations like ours today in the Town of Blue Mountains, contribute to that awareness and provide much needed support for families in Canada.
THEREFORE I, Andrea Matrosovs, Mayor of the Town of The Blue Mountains, do hereby proclaim the month of June as “CDKL5 Awareness Month” in the Town of The Blue Mountains.
