Thornbury-Clarksburg Rotary Club Hosts 3rd Annual 'The Kindness Gala'

Town Hall Update generic

This joint-media release is being shared on behalf of The Thornbury-Clarksburg Rotary Club and the Town of The Blue Mountains.

Get ready for a night of elegance and fine dining at the Thornbury-Clarksburg Rotary Club’s 3rd Annual Kindness Gala on Saturday, November 9. Dress to impress and hit the dance floor at the Georgian Peaks Club with live music that will keep you moving all evening. Proceeds from this special event will support the Club’s “Kindness at Play” initiative, aimed at revitalizing Moreau Park in Thornbury.

The Thornbury-Clarksburg Rotary Club is supporting The Town of Blue Mountains for the Moreau Park Revitalization to reimagine the property as an inclusive space for all community members. The Club’s vision for the park – themed “Kindness at Play” – includes a revamped skate park suitable for all ages and abilities, a year-round accessible pathway, sensory gardens, and an accessible playground. The Town received more than 750 responses to a public survey in 2023 seeking community feedback on the proposed design elements and other amenities. The survey results were presented to Town Council in May of 2024, and the Town is currently finalizing an agreement with a consulting firm to complete design concepts for the park.

The transformation of Moreau Park into a vibrant community hub will require more than just grants and Town funding. To make it truly exceptional, additional support is needed. The Rotary Club’s goal – through events like The Kindness Gala – is to raise $200,000 to supplement the Town's funding and plans, ensuring a remarkable transformation.

The Kindness Gala is one of the Club’s largest fundraisers in support of the “Kindness at Play” initiative. Tickets and sponsorship information are available on the Thornbury-Clarksburg Rotary Club’s website.
