A local entrepreneur is hoping a special delivery will help staff at a local nursing home feel good inside and out.

Collingwood Kombucha with support from the member trade organization, Kombucha Brewers International (KBI), donated 10 cases of kombucha on Wednesday, June 3 to Sunset Manor in Collingwood.

Christy Deere, owner and Brewmistress for Collingwood Kombucha company said her grandmother was cared for at the end of her life in a government-supported facility in Barrie by people like those at Sunset Manor.

"It has touched my heart to consider how different life is within the walls of these facilities, and I wanted to offer them something to appreciate all that they are sacrificing," she said.

Deere explained KBI rallied the global kombucha industry and created a give-back program called kombucha Heal-In.

"Brewers like us, from across the globe have been able to donate a total of 100,000 bottles of this healthy tonic to
the local heroes in our own communities," she said. "Thank you to all the staff and support workers at Sunset
Manor for working so hard to keep our elderly community safe."
